Defining the Differences Between Latex and Memory Foam

There are several mattress styles on the market today, each with their advantages and support systems. Foam mattresses use specific types of foam to create support for sleeping bodies. If you were to take a walk through your local mattress store serving San Dimas, you’ll find two popular types of foam mattress: latex foam and memory foam. While there are similarities between the two when it comes to comfort, there are many defining differences.

Latex mattresses are constructed from layers of latex foam, which can either be made by using plant-based or synthetic materials. These mattresses are breathable and offer sleepers a characteristic buoyant or springy feeling. Latex foam tends to be more solid than memory foam. Memory foam mattresses are made of a viscoelastic, polyurethane material with a high density. This foam is designed to contour and conform around your body. Because of this distinctive feature, memory foam mattresses are effective at relieving pressure, and these mattresses offer sleepers a floating sensation, as though they are sleeping on clouds.
